From Christmas parades and festivals to breathtaking theatrical performances and light shows, the Grand Strand offers everything to make your holiday season complete. Check out this list of top seasonal things to do, shows to see, and festive fun still to be had at the beach.
Dazzling Light Shows
Nights of a Thousand Candles at Brookgreen Gardens
This breathtaking display of lights is unlike any light show you’ll ever see. Thousands of hand-lit candles and twinkling lights ignite the gardens and statues for just a few days each December.
WHEN: 4-9 p.m. Dec. 14-18; 28-31, 2022 & Jan. 1, 2023 (This popular event sells out fast! Check online for tickets.)
Rivertown Christmas Celebration in Downtown Conway
Enjoy candlelit shopping with beautiful window displays, snowfall at the park, visits with Santa, Curtis the Camel, and much more each Thursday. All events are free.
WHEN: 6-8 p.m. Thursday, December 15 & 22, 2022
Celebration of Lights in Conway
This drive-through light show is set to your favorite holiday tunes and is $1/person.

The Great Christmas Light Show at the North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex
Even if you’ve been before you’ll want to see the new lights and new displays at this amazing light show perfectly set to music. Then bundle up as you enter Santa’s Village. There you’ll find a petting zoo, an elf hunt, train rides and of course visits with Santa himself.
WHEN: 5:30-9:30 p.m. every night through December 30 except for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Santa's Village is open nightly beginning December 15.
Winter Wonderland at The Beach
Head to the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk for a mile-long FREE light display with oceanfront photos with Santa, fun family-friendly events, live entertainment, shopping, and a brand-new Family Fun Zone with s'mores, inflatables and so much more.
WHEN: 6-9 p.m. through Dec. 23, 2022. The Family Fun Zone is open Thursday through Sunday.
HOLIDAY HAPPENINGS WITH SANTA
The Polar Bus Express at The Market Common
Hop on the Big Red Bus for the coolest Polar Express themed-ride in town. Riders will receive their very own “Believe” bell, chocolate chip cookie, water and hot cocoa at the end. You might even see the man in red if you ring your bell loud enough!
WHEN: Dec. 16, 17 & 23 at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Dec. 20 & 22 at 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
The Santa Experience at Broadway at the Beach
Bring your little ones to Center Court at Broadway at the Beach to pose for pictures with Santa.
