Celebrate On The Beach

While dogs are allowed on the beach year-round, their admittance is restricted to certain hours through the busier summer months. With these restrictions lifted after Labor Day and temperatures staying warm well into October, this is a great week to celebrate your poock with a trip together to the beach. Follow these animal beach rules to sit, stay and play as long as you'd like this September.

Horry County

The rules and regulations for Horry County beachs include the areas of North Myrtle Beach, Myrtle Beach, and Surfside Beach; all of which prohibit reptiles and exotic animals. Any animals visiting the beach must be on a leash no longer than 7-feet and cleaned up after by their owners. No animals are permitted on the beach from 10AM to 5PM, from May 1 through Labor Day.

Georgetown County

Rules and regulations for Georgetown County beaches encompass the areas of Pawleys Island and Huntington Beach State Park. Dogs must be on leashes between 9AM to 7PM in Georgetown County, but on the leash at all times in areas designated for the protection of endangered species within Huntington Beach State Park. Dogs unleashed on the off hours must be under voice control, which must be able to be demonstrated by the owners to law enforcements office if asked.
