The historic Wachesaw Plantation gated neighborhood offers an opportunity to own cottages, duplexes and condos, and the condos at Governors Landing in Wachesaw Plantation overlook the beautiful Intracoastal Waterway. The plantation's streets are lined with ancient oaks and beautiful flowering plants.
As one would expect, condos for sale in Murrells Inlet vary significantly based on their proximity to the waterfront. However, home buyers do not have to buy a condo by the actual inlet to have a nice location and view. There is variety of real estate on and off the water. In fact, hundreds of condos are available for sale in the community. A three-bedroom condo with two or three baths and 1,200 to 1,300 square feet on Waccamaw Drive, the beachside road in Murrells Inlet, would be in the range of $350,000 to $450,000. Condos about half that size can be had for roughly half the price—perhaps a little under $200,000. Farther away from the waterfront—say closer to Ocean Highway (Highway 17)—condo prices drop considerably. Three-bedroom condos with two to three bathrooms and closer to 1,500 square feet would be valued in the low $100,000s. Ocean Highway is less than a ten-minute drive from the village’s beachfront.
Though the area is known more for its beaches, water and golf, Murrells Inlet sits next to Huntington Beach State Park, which is popular with nature enthusiasts. The coastal reserve welcome various species of birds throughout the year.
